IN THE COMMUNITY: The Journey Expo at The Northland Performing Arts Center Saturday, May 4 from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm Sunday, May 5 from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm The Journey Expo Columbus 2013 features two days of lectures, workshops, demonstrations to spark you to higher levels of consciousness. Personal Pamper Day Saturday, May 11 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm Your Personal Pamper Day will start with a lovely Welcome Gift and Time of Guided Meditation to help you release any stress from the day and ease into the rest of your relaxing afternoon. Next you will experience Sound Therapy with Tuning Forks, which introduce the Solfeggio Frequencies into the subtle energy fields of your body. Each chakra has a different frequency associated with it, and the different tuning forks correspond with these frequencies. The forks resonate with the specific vibration of each chakra, so when these energy centers are out of balance the tuners bring them back into balance by entrainment. After your Tuning Fork session, you will experience Reiki Energy Healing, which is based on the belief that there is an energetic flow in and through all living things. English Haiku ~ Spiritual & Intuitive Creative Writing Class with Ina Antoniak Thursday, May 23 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm The Spiritual & Intuitive Writing Series is a mystical journey into the world of words. Every word has its own vibration, its own unique sensation and meaning. Sometimes we have trouble finding the perfect word to express our feelings, to make a connection, to touch another's soul. Not all words need to be spoken aloud. Sometimes with pen to paper our intentions come across in a more intense and meaningful way. Look deep inside yourself and let Spirit guide your hand. English Haiku: Reach deep inside yourself to find the perfect word vibrations to express your vision, sharing your spiritual connection with Mother Earth. Haiku is a nature based poem consisting of 3 lines containing 5-7-5 syllables, for a total of 17 syllables. Cost: $20
June 27, Senyru: A sister form of Haiku, Senyru has the same rules of 3 lines and 5-7-5 syllables, but it is based on human nature. In this session you will search your soul about how you feel about love, life, romance, pain, sadness. You will connect with your past, look at your present and hope for the future through words. July 26, The 5 Senses: In this session you will call upon your senses to create a beautiful writing piece that will involve the 5 senses. Your writing will describe your favorite memory, happiest moment or deepest fear. Your words will transport the reader to that place, letting them share in that moment. Letting them connect with your experience on a whole other level. August 22, Spirituality: In this session you will probe your inner being and seek out the true meaning of your spirituality. You will touch the God or Goddess inside you, feel your spirit guides and hear the messages they have for you. You will be guided in your writing by your spirit guides, angels and muse's. Through words you will make a connection with life, gain an understanding of destiny and your own path within it. October 24, Ghost Story: This is the last session in the series, so we will end on a fun and whimsical note. In this session you will use your imagination, or even an experience to tantalize and enthrall the reader. You will tap into your dark side, embrace your fears and draw the reader into your macabre world.

Transpersonal Chakras Meditation & Activation with Melody Lynn Jenkins, M.Msc 3 Week Series All sessions 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm This 3 Week Meditation & Transformation Series will focus on several chakras & gateways that lie within our auric & etheric space, but are not located within our body. The Shingon Buddhism Series with Rev. George Kosho Finch First Wednesday of each month All sessions 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm This class will be taught by American Shingon Buddhist priest Rev. George Kosho Finch. Rev. Finch began his formal Shingon training in 1999 and completed his final ordination on Mt. Koya Japan in 2006. Since that time he has taught meditation, yoga, and tai chi and Buddhist practice in Oregon, and at temples in California and Hawaii. Rev. Finch holds a B.A. in International Relations and East Asian Languages from Michigan State University, and a J.D. from Willamette University. Introduction to Esoteric Buddhist Astrology June 5 from 6:00pm-8:00pm Cost: $35 suggested donation Japanese Esoteric Buddhism teaches that there are Eight Protecting Buddhist Deities, associated with the astrological sign of each person’s birth. Derived from the astrology and divination systems of China and India and Buddhist cosmology, the Eight Protecting Deities, provide an introduction to Buddhist teaching through the more familiar zodiac. This class will first introduce participants to the esoteric Buddhist cosmology, the connections made between Indian, Chinese and Japanese astrology and Buddhist teachings. Participants will then be introduced to the Sanskrit seed-syllable, (Siddham) characters and mantras of each deity and the meditative symbolism associated with each deity. This course is suitable for those new to esoteric Buddhist meditation and those interested in furthering their study. The topics covered will provide participants with information to start a meditation practice and enrich the knowledge of experienced practitioners.

Introduction to Meditation with Rev. Melody Lynn Jenkins, M.Msc (3 week Series) Many people find it difficult to meditate. Sometimes, we get the idea that meditation means an entire hour of being absolutely quiet with no distracting thoughts and then, some great moment of enlightenment comes at the end of that hour.
